Apologies. I didn’t really want to venture here. It’s too painful. The classy pinstripe team…the Yankees… was torn to shreds when the insecure “new, new yorker” was welcomed in 2004 and invented the word “choker” with his questionable antics and cheating ways (this doesn’t even cover his infidelities.)  In case you missed it, Jason Gay’s ALEX RODRIGUEZ: CONFESSIONS OF A DAMNED YANKEE should cover it.

This feels like the year of the Yankees.  As I type this, I’m hopeful this new, New Yorker who hit the jackpot when he amassed the $275 million/10 year contract, is finally able to be considered “clutch.”  A far stretch, but, I’m putting a bit of faith in the mix.  Don’t be a baby Alex.  Play ball; that’s what you’re paid to do and the fans expect. Sink or swim baby.

Ah; to be young and in love…with yourself.
