The ever discerning T Magazine looks at artist Tauba Auerbach‘s work at the site of the future downtown Whitney Museum.

“Auerbach, 28, wrapped the trailers in photographic murals of black-and-white marble, but the patterns don’t read as anything more than a wavy moiré. Seen from the High Line above, they look like aerial views of snowy landscapes or eddying pools —  refreshing on a hot summer day. It’s odd to see such decorative wallpaper on construction trailers, but hey, it’s New York, where we love a good con and believe our purpose is to turn anything that anybody takes for granted inside out.”

A refreshing change to the concrete construction lots.
